Our Programs
Infants
The first year of your infant’s life is a busy one that includes taking huge strides when it comes to his physical, social, and emotional development. Our infant classroom is dedicated to creating a nurturing and safe environment for your infant to grow and learn. Every infant has his own disposition and develops at his own pace, which is why our infant curriculum is individualized for each of our infants. Our highly trained and educated infant teachers combine developmentally appropriate activities with the social-emotional love and support your infant needs to grow and develop into a confident life-long learner.
At Chicago Contemporary Preschool, our teachers understand the importance of and take great pride in planning activities to bond with your baby. Our infants build self-awareness and self-confidence when they receive special attention like cuddling, rocking, and being held by their teachers. These unique and intimate experiences build a sense of belonging and comfort, which leads to your child feeling safe, secure, and comfortable when exploring his environment and engaging with others.
Older Infant
There are so many benefits from having an Infant and toddler program and learning about your child at such an early age. A lot of thought goes into our infant and toddler programs, starting with the age range of each classroom.
Something special to Chicago Contemporary Preschool is the separation of younger and older infants. 6 weeks to 15 months is a large age range with an enormity of changes that happen at each turning month. These changes affect our little ones learning needs as well as their schedules. Having the ability to separate our older infants once they are mobile, beginning to eat solid foods, and staying awake longer in the day allows for the teachers to cater better to their interests and needs as well as create a calmer and safer classroom environment for everyone.
Toddlers
Our toddler program is dedicated to fostering your child’s natural curiosity. We offer a busy, yet structured daily routine with an endless possibility of learning for our toddlers. Your toddler is on the move and eager to absorb every bit of his environment. Our toddler teachers maximize the potential of everyday learning experiences by creating a balance between child-directed play and teacher led activities in art, science, math, early literacy, and movement.
Toddlers are naturally inquisitive, so Chicago Contemporary Preschool strives to create a learning environment where your toddler does not feel pressure to learn, but instead will seek out learning experiences because they are offered and presented in a manner your child can relate to and understand. An age-appropriate environment in which educational activities are presented in a manner that excited and engages your child is essential to your child’s growth and development.
Twos
Two year olds want to learn, explore, and question, while also demonstrating their growing independence. Our learn-through-play curriculum, combined with NAEYC learning standards and our teachers years of experience, helps guide your child through activities while still nurturing their developing independence and individual interests.
Our two year old teachers guide your child through learning new math, science, and literacy concepts as well as developing self help skills such as potty training, and social skills such interacting and cooperating with classmates. In order to meet the many needs of an active two year old, Chicago Contemporary Preschool is committed to providing your child with a balanced daily schedule with numerous activities to keep him busy and learning!
Preschool
Chicago Contemporary Preschool is dedicated to creating an environment where your child can be successful. Your Preschooler is making connections, solving problems, and asking questions now more than ever! Chicago Contemporary Preschool presents activities to your child in a manner that excites and engages him. Our preschool program contains a plethora of developmentally appropriate materials and experienced educators who are committed to helping preschool children flourish academically and socially. Our goal is to enhance your child’s love for learning and build a strong educational foundation that will not only prepare your child for the future, but also enable him to be a happy confident learner, ready to participate in the world around him.
Pre-Kindergarten
Chicago Contemporary Preschool offers your pre-kindergartener a learning environment in which he can gain the essential skills to be successful once he moves onto school. At CCP, children are presented with age-appropriate yet challenging educational materials. By encouraging your child to be proud of the new skills he learns and build upon skills he masters, we create a learning environment where your child will flourish academically and socially. CCP Pre-Kindergarteners are encouraged to voice their thoughts and ideas and be active members of their group. They learn the fundamental skills to cooperate, negotiate, and problem solve with their peers and are encouraged to make personal choices every day. Pre-Kindergarteners leave Chicago Contemporary Preschool prepared for grade school, their bright futures, and the world around them.
Additional Offers
Enrichment
Enrichment classes are part of the CCP curriculum because they are a great opportunity for children to build additional skills through new experiences that go beyond what is possible in a traditional classroom. Every classroom, from Infants to Pre-Kindergarten, gets to participate in their own weekly enrichment classes, such as music and Spanish.
CCP partners with local programs in our community such as Latin Heroes and Old Town School of Folk Music to provide expert and experienced teachers for these enrichment classes.
Outside of our weekly classes, CCP works with our community to create opportunities for additional enrichment opportunities for our students throughout the year. From walking field trips to cooking class and yoga in the park, CCP is committed to creating new experiences and healthy challenges for our students
