Community and Philanthropy
Chicago Contemporary Preschool is located in the heart of the Goldcoast neighborhood of Chicago. Our school is within walking distance and is able to take advantage of so many of Chicago’s great landmarks and locations such as the beach, lakefront, Lincoln Park Zoo, Farmer’s market, Lincoln Park Conservatory, edible garden, and more.
Besides these landmarks, our students take advantage of exploring everyday staples in our community through walking field trips to the grocery store, fire station, post office, and other local businesses. We have learned to make pizza at a local restaurant one week and taken a walking field trip to the local grocery store to pick up ingredients and supplies to cook a meal the following week.
In addition to taking advantage of the learning opportunities our community has to offer, our students also engage in philanthropy that gives back and makes our community stronger. From picking up litter on earth day, to partnering with the residents of our local senior living center, our students learn how to engage and help others. Other ways we give back is through making meals for the local community center and shelter, collecting food items for the local food bank, making and donating dog treats to the animal shelter, as well as collecting PPE, diapers, and warm clothing to donate to those in need.
We love the partnerships that have been made in our community and are excited for all the new memories we plan to make in the year ahead.
